Our two lovely historical cottages are located on the Rame Peninsula in a small waterside hamlet with a harbour. The castle wall entrance gates and Victorian walled gardens are signs of its former life as the Head Gardeners Cottage on Mount Edgcumbe estate.

Empacombe is a pretty little Cornish Hamlet on the Mount Edgcumbe Estate. It is right on the waterfront of the Hamoaze Estuary and is accessed via a long private driveway. Bay Cottage and Bay Stables are both hidden behind a tall Castle like wall which was built in 1788 to protect the soft fruit, flowers and vegetables which were grown for the manor house at Mount Edgcumbe. There are hints of its former industrious past within the Victorian walled gardens. Both Cottages have very large gardens and private off-road parking.

The Cottages are perfect for families with children of all ages and are very dog friendly with fantastic walks along the coast path straight from the front door and into the 865 acre Mount Edgcumbe Country park.

Whether coming to visit Mount Edgcumbe or Polhawn Fort for a wedding, a passing out parade at HMS Raleigh or just a relaxing holiday to explore the beautiful twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and enjoy the stretch of beaches at Whitsand Bay, the Rame Peninsula has a lot to offer and is a stunning part of Cornwall. It is very unspoilt, friendly and welcoming.

Bay Cottage is accessed via the main Castle wall and Bay Stables has separate access via a back entrance. Both gardens are totally separate from each other. Of course there is the possibility to rent the whole place.
